New entry level model of the Sirrix.GSM CryptoGateway product family now available

Sirrix AG completes its unique product portfolio of CryptoGateways for the interconnection of mobile phones and private telephone systems by a new entry level model. The CryptoGateway interlinks tap-proof encrypted mobile phone calls with standard phone sets behind a PBX at the various sites of an enterprise. The new additionally available entry level model supports 2 simultaneous secure phone calls between mobile and fixed network participants.

Saarbrücken, 1st July 2010. Mobile phone calls using current GSM networks are not safe anymore against tapping. In recent years the required effort for potential attackers has substantially decreased and thus the risk for enterprises to lose precious information via leaking mobile communications has seen a drastic increase.

The use of special mobile phones with resistant encryption technology can effectively help handle the risk but a simple and broad usage is constrained by the missing integration of central enterprise sites. Phone calls with need of confidentiality very often take place between people in the field some place around the globe and their colleagues in the headquarters. This is the area addressed by the Sirrix.GSM CryptoGateway which interlinks encrypted mobile calls and standard private branch exchanges. As a result each conventional phone within the enterprise site can be used as counterpart for secured mobile calls.

The new entry level model CGW entry provides 2 simultaneous Crypto channels and can be connected to a standard PBX by way of ISDN or VoIP. That way 2 simultaneous secure calls between 2 mobile and 2 internal participants are enabled as well as conference calls for 2 mobile and up to 8 internal users. Also direct secured site-to-site communication between any 2 CryptoGateways is part of the comprehensive feature set. The appliance is immediately available at the recommended retail price of € 2.950,- excl. of VAT.

The Sirrix.GSM CryptoGateway CGW Entry is offered in 3 variants. The standard variant provides the Crypto channels as ISDN interfaces. Alternatively modem interfaces for the analogue operation or direct GSM ports for customer provided SIM cards are available.
